Mayor of London (Wonderland Fun Run 2000)
Ken Livingstone (Ind from Lab) was finally declared the First Directly Elected Mayor of London following voting on 4 May 2000. After a lengthy and acrimonious run he overtook all contenders well before the finish. Jeffrey Archer (Con) fell heavily by the wayside, while Glenda Jackson ran regally. Steve Norris (Con) finished a commendable second with Frank Dobson (Lab) and Susan Kramer (Lib Dem) trailing in third and fourth places respectively.
